Hi, I'm Ian Douglass, an award winning Creative Director guiding projects for digital, television, and film. I work with ad and design agencies, brands, studios, networks, sports teams, production companies, and nonprofit organizations.
For more than 12 years, I have organically developed a skill set spanning director, designer, editor, writer, producer, and composer. I wear at least three of these hats on any given project, bringing the creative alchemy that transforms ideas into experiences. But more than that, I’m the guy who shows up every day, collaborates with ease, and knows when to cut to the chase or let an idea breathe.

For the majority of my career, I ran Ballast—a boutique broadcast design studio and a creative playground for some of the most ambitious projects in the TV, film , and digtal worlds. Small by design, we were two partners operating in perfect harmony, like Yin and Yang. Each day at Ballast was a creative expedition, where even a quick edit or a pitch could become something unforgettable. At Ballast, we didn’t just complete projects; we conjured visual magic. Our studio was a spirited blend of hard work and playful energy, with which we tackled everything from the massive rebranding of Fox Sports to creating content for the world's largest screen in Las Vegas.
